Writing 101, Day Eleven: Size Matters

Tell us about the home where you lived when you were twelve. Which town, city, or country? Was it a house or an apartment? A boarding school or foster home? An airstream or an RV? Who lived there with you?

Twist: Pay attention to your sentence lengths and use short, medium, and long sentences as you compose your response about the home you lived in when you were twelve.

Somewhat cheeky play on the twist

Short Sentence

I lived in house.

Medium Sentence

It was a wonderful house, it contained my favourite things.

Long Sentence

In this house, with my favourite things one inequity went unchecked, in winter, in the rain and the wind, it always fell to me to fill the coal bucket from the outside coal bunker.  Being 12 I’m sure you can relate to this injustice!

Short Sentence

It was my home.
